Title: Patience is the Key

Blog Entry: Business is a world which, seen by an outsider, can seem utterly incomprehensible. Turning ideas into money is something that, if we all knew how to do it, could solve all of our problems and would make for a fascinating world of business. As things stand though, some people have the right stuff when it comes to making money and some do not. What is unfortunate is when people give up on their business ideas after some early difficulties. Often it is not the business which is failing, but the circumstances surrounding it. If you can address these, then often you will find that the business itself is good, that your idea is valuable and that people are prepared to pay well for the product or service that you provide. Patience is one of the most important things you can possess as a businessperson . Sometimes, you will put time and effort into doing something, and when you put it before the public, it does not catch on like you hoped it would. Some ideas are immediate. You create something, you put it in front of people , and they are falling over themselves to pay for it. The key thing to realise is that these ideas are rare, which is why there are so few overnight millionaires and so many people who turn their backs on the world of business too early. If your idea does not take off immediately, think about why it hasn't done so. Consider what you could do to remedy this. Ask other people. But don't just give up, because your idea may just need a few tweaks to become a big seller. Hard work and funding are not the only things that are required to make a business work. People have done it with precious little of the latter, and some have even been lucky enough to have it happen without much of the former as well. What businesses need in order to thrive, as much as anything else, is time. You need time to see who is buying your idea, and who is not. Why are they not buying it? What would make them change their mind ? The most important thing is that you are patient. If you have gone to the bother of trying to make your idea work , then the chances are you really believe in it. Although it may have had early teething troubles, if you believe in it then others may well agree, but you need to give them a chance . To put so much effort into something and then just give up seems a shame, does it not?
